Day 3: The Body Holds Clues
Part of the “5 Days to Feel Better: A Somatic Reset” Series
Â
đź‘‹ Welcome to Day 3
You’ve spent the past two days becoming more aware of your current state of being and exploring simple tools (anchors) to help you come back into balance. Today, we build on that foundation by deepening your connection to the body through a practice called the Body Scan.
This is where we begin to listen inward—without trying to change anything. You’re simply tuning in to the messages your body is already offering.
🎥 Today’s Video
In this short video, I guided you step-by-step through the body scan process. You can follow along or use it to support your own quiet practice.
How to Begin:
-
Find a quiet space where you can sit or lie down comfortably.
-
Begin at your feet and bring your attention there—notice any sensations.
-
Gently move your attention through the body:
-
Legs
-
Torso
-
Arms
-
Neck and head
-
-
At each area, simply observe:
-
Do you feel cold, warm, tension, tingling, numbness...?
-
Or perhaps nothing at all? All observations are valid.
-
-
If something feels overwhelming, pause or skip that area. Use one of your anchors (from Day 2) to return to balance.
There’s no perfect way to do this. You might scan your whole body in one sitting, or focus on just one area. The practice is simply about being present with what is.
📝 Journal Prompts
After you have had some practice scanning your body, take a few moments to reflect:
- What sensations did you notice in, on, or around your body?
- Did you feel any resistance to observing any part of your body?
- What insights came to you from doing a body scan?
đź’› A Gentle Reminder
Awareness is the first step of transformation.
As your body awareness grows, you begin to reclaim choice, calm, and clarity—moment by moment.
You’re learning to tune in.
Tomorrow, we’ll explore how to apply this awareness in real time to bring more ease and intentionality into your daily life.
